URBAN DESIGN STUDIO 1

I pursued a specialization in urban design during my Masters in Planning program at the University of Calgary. This helped me develop a clearer understanding of built form and the public realm. Projects included reviewing land use, block patterns, historic photographs, environmental considerations (such as prevailing winds and shadows), topography and 3D massing. As well, multi-modal transportation demand was reviewed and assessed. Precedents were also used to inform designs and provide further explanation of design concepts. Cross sections were developed to provide a sense of spacing and clearly demonstrate the relationship between forms.
