LEARNING TO PAY ATTENTION

Too often we use streets and the public realm as a means to get from A to B, failing to recognize the value of the spaces in between. I designed and disemmenated these simple posters throughout my neighbourhood in an effort to get people to pay more attention to their surroundings and notice interesting, meaningful moments in their commute. I monitored the posters, and day after day more of the “yes” tabs were missing. By the end of the week, they had all been taken. This suggests how successful minimal approaches to placemaking can be.
