INTERACTIVE SEATING
with Lane Shordee + Kate Zago
As a follow up to our 2014 project with containR, The Bench Project partnered with Lane Shordee to create a flexible and interactive seating experiment. Benches were designed with wheels on the front and back, allowing users to easily move the seating throughout the space and configure it to suit their needs. Storage inside the benches was an additional feature that improved the usability of the benches for events and workshops at the site. Much of the material used to build the benches was scavenged or recycled from old projects, requiring a little more TLC in the making of the benches, but resulting in the same quality outcome as other projects.
